Happy Valentines...

This year for Valentine's we didn't have much planned, but we ended up having a really fun weekend. We had just planned to hang out at home with Rylee, make some cookies and watch some movies. We did end up making cookies. Rylee loves helping me bake cookies...her favorite part of course is putting on the sprinkles and then eating the cookies afterwards. She is so cute! She did a really good job at helping me too. :) We sort of celebrated Valentine's on Friday. I took Rylee to visit her friends at school and drop off Valentine cards and candy, we also made cookies on Friday night and then we gave Rylee her Valentine gifts from us and her grandma & grandpa. She loved what she got, especially her soft heart pillow and cute fleece blanket. Brett surprised me with an arrangement of roses...only these roses were different. It was a bouquet of chocolate dipped strawberries to look like a bouquet of roses....they were pretty and yummy. Thanks babe I loved them, and so did Rylee. :)

My sister, Andrea, and her family didn't have much planned for Valentine's Day either, so they decided to come and hang out. They all drove up on Friday night. We just hung out and visited that night, while the kids ran around and played. Saturday we all ate lunch, went to the mall and did some shopping, then to dinner. Of course we were not the only one's who thought dinner would be nice the night of Valentines...everywhere had at least a 3 hour wait. It was horrible. We finally found somewhere with a one hour wait and that is where we went. Rylee fell asleep while waiting and never did wake up for dinner...her cousins sure wore her out that day. Sunday we did a little more shopping, went to lunch, then I cut my hair. After that we all played a little Wii and then they had to head back home. It turned out to be a really good and fun weekend for everyone.

34 weeks & counting....

So I am just a few days past the 34 week mark. It is getting closer...that is what I keep telling myself. Honestly, I am not tired of being pregnant and my pregnancy has gone great, but I am ready for him to be here already. I have his nursery all ready and all the clothes and blankets washed and ready to use. We cannot wait and couldn't be more excited for the day to get here! Brett says 9 months is way too long!

My friends Robyn & Jen gave me a baby shower two weeks ago and it turned out very cute. I got lots of cute stuff for the baby. It is so exciting to be getting all this blue stuff ready for the baby. I think every day how lucky we are to have a beautiful girl and now to get a little boy. Everything I got at my shower was perfect and just what I needed. So thanks to my friends & family for all of the cute stuff and thanks to Robyn and Jen for such a cute baby shower.

Brinne and my brother Trevor just welcomed their new baby boy on January 30th, which made me even more anxious for Daxon to get here. Brinne and Trevor named their baby Layker. He was 8 lbs. 1.5 oz. and 21 inches long. He is such a cutie.

Rylee is very excited to be a big sister and to help take care of a new baby. She loves babies so much. She gets excited every time she see's one. She is really excited to help me bath him and feed him. I think I will have to watch her very closely, just in case she decides to pick him up and go play with him like a doll, I can see it now :)

Quality Time With Rylee...

Last Tuesday, my job laid off 300 employees. Considering they are not very big, it impacted a lot of people...me being one of them. At first I was really upset. Before we even knew who would be affected I started stressing; knowing that nobody will hire someone as pregnant as I am, and I was worried about not having insurance when the baby is born.

Well last Tuesday they gave the dreaded news. I could not believe some of the people that were let go. It was really sad. People that had been there for 15+ years. Brett was so supportive and so great about the whole thing. He has been so awesome.

So, for the time being, I am going to be a stay at home mommy to Rylee and spend some quality time with her before baby Daxon gets here. And I cannot tell you how happy that makes me. I think it will be a really good thing for us to get to spend one on one time together before she has to share the house and attention with a new baby. Even though she could not be more excited to get a baby brother, I am sure it will take a lot of adjusting for her once the big day comes.

Until then, we will enjoy the next 5 weeks hanging out and having fun together. Just doing some of Rylee's favorite things...playing dolls, kitchen, dress-up, making cookies, and watching Disney movies. Sounds like a good time to me and I am looking forward to every minute of it :)
