Wow...where does the time go?

I cannot believe summer is already more than half way over. I have to say this summer has been great and we have been able to take the kids to do a lot of fun things. Between going to Texas and playing at home in the water, its been really good. Rylee absolutely loves playing in water. Our back yard is really big and all grassy, so we put out the slip-n-slide and a little pool and it entertains her all day long. I love sitting out in the lounge chair, Dax in his exersaucer, and Rylee playing in the water. Its so nice and relaxing! We have also spent a lot of days playing at the splash park with my friend Melissa and her son Jayden and little girl Myah. Rylee and Jayden get along really well and have lots of fun together. They also came to play at the house, which Rylee loved. Brett also took Rylee and Savanah to the new waterpark Cowabunga and Rylee went down all the waterslides she was tall enough for and the others she went on Brett's lap. She is one brave little girl. And Dax had his first experience in a little pool...it was cold and he wasn't so sure about it.

Aren't these two so cute together? Melissa and I decided they could be girlfriend and boyfriend, lol.

Also, my sweet little guy is already 4 MONTHS old as of yesterday! Its amazing how much they change, even from 3 to 4 months old. Here are some things he likes and does at 4 months....
* He laughs and smiles so much.
* He still loves his swing.
* He loves his exersaucer....and its so amazing watching him in it. The first day we put him in it he was 3 1/2 months and he just looked at everything. The very next day he was grabbing at all the toys and just loving it.
* He started sleeping in his own crib at 3 1/2 months. Each morning I go to get him up, he is turned the opposite way, its the funniest thing.
* He goes to bed on his own. (I just lay him down awake and he goes to sleep)
* He still wakes one time a night. (usually around 4am)
* He is still very content and laid back.
* He loves sucking on his hands, and I mean his whole hands.
* He loves grabbing his toes, all the time. (It's the cutest thing ever)
* He loves having his diaper changed and gets so excited when I start taking off his clothes and diaper that he kicks and swings his arms with a big smile on his face.
* He loves bath time and is now in his sit up chair.
* He has started wearing 3-6 month clothes, but also still wears some 0-3 month clothes and onesies.
* He is in size 1 diapers and I think he weighs about 13 something....I will know for sure on the 20th at his check-up.
* He can sit when leaning on his hands for support. (I haven't officially recorded it in his book yet since he still tips when he leans and does have to use his hands for support.)

Happy 4 month birthday sweet baby, we love you....

I also took some updated pics of the kids...

Happy 4th of July...

This year we were able to celebrate with all of our family and friends for 5 days. It was so nice to see everyone and let the kids get together and play. We had BBQ's, rode 4 wheelers, went to the street dance, took the kids to the Aurora and Salina games, the parade, the rodeo and both Aurora and Salina fireworks. Rylee had so much fun this year.

Our friend Brandon was also in town and got to see Dax for the first time. It was really good to see him. Rylee has always adored him and Dax seems to take to him just as well.

We went to our friends, Jaron and Jenny, and had a BBQ. Rylee played with their cute little girl Nakia.

I was so excited to be able to meet up with my friend Shauni and her cute lil guy, Aiden. They live in Vegas so we don't see each other much. Aiden and Dax are exactly one month apart...Dax being a month older. We got a few pics of the two together. It was so good to see them.

Rylee loved the parade and got so much candy...

Here is a pic of my cute little nephew Layker with Dax. They are about 7 weeks apart. Layker is the oldest...

Oh, I almost forgot, we even found time to go to the lake. Rylee had a blast playing in the water with her cousin Savanah. This was Dax's first trip to the lake. He enjoyed relaxing with mommy in the shade.

Oh, I love these guys...aren't they the cutest?!

Huh?? Are you talking to me?!....I love this face he is pulling. He is such a stud in his cute little shoes and matching shirt...

I just want to give him kisses all over those sweet cheeks...

I can't believe...

how much I have to blog. Where do I start?! For starters, we had a great father's day weekend. In the morning, Rylee and I made Brett breakfast. We even made pancakes that said "dad". That was Rylee's idea...she is so cute! The day before Rylee and I made a poster for him that said Happy Father's Day! #1 Daddy with Rylee's handprints and Dax's footprints. It turned out cute and Rylee had so much fun doing it. We hung that up for him. Afterwards, Brett and Rylee went swimming and then later we all went to lunch together. Later that evening we all went back to the pool.

Here is the cute poster we decorated(Rylee wrote her name and drew the flower)...

Once we decided it was time to head back to Utah, we spent a few days just having fun before we left Texas. Brett took Rylee to a big water park called NRH2O. It has a huge section for kids with waterslides and a big bucket that dumps water. Rylee loved it and had so much fun. She even went down the big waterslide. It was a participant park only, so I couldn't go unless I wanted to pay like $22 and since Dax can't get in, we dropped them off and went shopping for a few hours instead.

Then we took the kids to the Dallas World Aquarium. It was a lot of fun. Its set up really neat in there, like a rain forest or something. Rylee really enjoyed the different animals. Her favorite was the penguins, or possibly the huge sea turtles. Ok, so there are so many different freeways in this state, or at least this area, its crazy! I thought FM 1073 was a radio station, but no these are freeways. Its very different to get use to, but I would like to add, we only had to use navigation once, and that was on our way home from the aquarium. It was pretty funny. We ended up being on the right track, but we were starting to think we were lost and thought we better use the navigation before we get completely lost.

Then it was time to pack all our stuff and head back to Utah...and let me tell you, we could not wait to see mountains again. We just wanted to be back in Utah. The kids were awesome again and we even did longer days. What we did in 4 days before, we did in 2 days this time. We left Texas around 6:30pm Thursday and drove until Albuquerque, NM, which took us until 4:30am (TX time), then we slept for about 4 hours and then left my dads at noon on Friday and drove all the way to Salina. We arrived in Salina at 11 pm Friday night. Rylee was great, and again Dax didn't cry once. So it worked out as planned.

We had a great time in Salina for 2 days. Just getting to see all the family was awesome! We rode 4-wheelers, Rylee caught frogs, played on the slip and slide, and played with the cousins. We are excited to be able to go see them for the 4th of July also.
