5 Months Old...

My little bubbas is 5 months old today! He is so much fun. I know I say that every single time I post about him, but he just gets cuter and more fun every day. He absolutely LOVES his big sister. Anytime she walks by or talks he just watches her in amazement. Its so cute! He SMILES all the time and giggles a lot. I love it!

Here are some new milestones/updates since the last month:
~He still loves his swing.
~He loves his exersaucer.
~He grabs at toys and holds them to play with them.
~He tries to hold his own bottle but doesn't always keep it in very well.
~He is eating baby food and LOVES bananas. They are his favorite, but he also likes sweet potatoes and applesauce. He doesn't care for squash. He likes the cereal with mixed fruit but not plain cereal.
~He rolled a few times at only 2 months old then just stopped doing it very often. He just started rolling regularly again on 8/15/09.
~He can scoot all over the place on his back.
~He loves eating his little toes, and its so cute!
~He still wakes mommy once a night to have a bottle.
~He still loves bath time.
~He reached his arms out to be picked up on 8/12/09.

He is such a good natured little boy. He has the cutest personality and gets excited so easily. He is great in the car when I travel and loves going for stroller rides. He is always so happy. If he gets cranky I know its time to eat...that is about the only time he gets fussy. He is still a little bit of a mama's boy and I love it. We love him very very much!

Happy 5 month birthday bubbas...We LOVE YOU!!!

I had to do it...

After seeing a few different people do cute pictures by railroad tracks, I had to try it out. I have been wanting to do some pictures of Rylee in her cute tutu again and decided that when it comes to railroad track pictures...anything goes! So we went out to the tracks not too far from my house and took some CUTE pictures! I love how they turned out. I must say, I had a lot of people looking at me strange when I parked my car and started toward the tracks with a car seat and a little girl. I can only imagine what they thought...

Kids Say the Silliest Things...

The other day Rylee and I were sitting outside on the patio and here is how our conversation went...

Rylee: "Mom, Mom, I just saw an Air Pickle."

Mom: (laughing so hard I could barely talk) "An Air Pickle...what is an Air Pickle?"

Rylee: "Mom, you know, those birds with the really long noses."

Mom: "A Hummingbird?" (still laughing)

Rylee: "No, mom, you know those one birds with a long nose"

Mom: "OH, a Wood Pecker!"

Rylee: "Ya, a wood pecker, thats it mom."

I still laugh every time I think about those darn Air Pickles. She is too funny! I love when she comes up with these crazy words. She is such a story teller and I love every minute of it. She is so darn CUTE!!!

All I can say is...

...I LOVE this little boy! He gets cuter and cuter every single day. He has the cutest little personality and he is my WORLD. He is starting to be a little bit of a Momma's Boy and I don't mind one bit.

It doesn't get better than this....

Holiday Fun...

For the 24th of July, we of course spent it with family. We love being able to spend these kinds of holidays with our family and friends. We actually went to Salina Wednesday night to start our long weekend. On Thursday, my friend Jess drove from St. George to Salina to hang out. I haven't seen her in a little over a year and it was so good to see her and hang out with her. She brought her daughter Talia, which made Rylee very happy. We met for lunch then just hung out. One good thing about Jess and I is no matter what we are doing or not doing, we still enjoy our time together. She is pregnant with a little girl and I cannot wait until she is born. I never thought we would have our kids close in age, but Dax and her baby girl will only be 9 months apart...how exciting!
On Friday, the 24th of July, we took the kids to the Redmond park for the parade and games. Rylee had so much fun with her cousins. We walked to the park with my sister Shanda and her 5 cute kids. Rylee got lots of candy at the parade, then we started with the games. The very first thing she did was get her face painted, then played a few games. Her biggest concern was getting a gold fish. We had a sno cone, ate some food, played at the park and then headed home.

That night we had a BBQ with our friends Jaron, Jenny and their little girl Nakiah, then went to the burn-outs. Saturday, Brett and I went on a Harley ride, which was really nice and then looked around for places to live. And I am happy to say we found a place...yahoo! (Thanks to my nephew Jayden!)
Sunday we visited Rylee & Dax's great grandma VilaDean, then took Rylee to play with her cousin Kailey. They play so good together. We went and ate a very yummy dutch oven dinner at my in-laws...Rick makes the best food, I swear! Then I headed back to SLC with the kids, oh and I brought Kailey along for the ride. I was a little worried about it since Kailey is use to staying up much later than Rylee, but Rylee was out on the way home, so Kailey went to bed when I did. The next day I took them to the splash park and then her mommy and daddy came and picked her up.

So that was our LONG and FUN 24th of July weekend...we enjoyed every bit of it and look forward to many more holidays with family and friends!!!

Official Weigh in....

Dax had his 4 month check-up on July 20, 2009. He weighed in at 13 lbs. 14 oz., and was 25.2 inches long. His head circumference is 16.8 inches. For his weight alone at his age, he is in the 40th percentile, for his height alone at his age he is in the 70th percentile. His head circumference is the 50th percentile. His weight for how tall he is, its actually only the 10th percentile. Which is great considering at both his 2 week and 2 month check-ups it was not even on the chart yet, so they had it listed as <5th percentile. He has now made it on the charts. Long and skinny, just like Rylee was. He had to get two shots and he was such a BIG BOY! He let out one little cry and then stopped. The doctor said he looks fantastic and is doing great for his age. He was babbling and "talking" a lot to the doctor and the doctor said he is practicing a lot with his sounds and could be an early talker.
Its so fun to look back at Rylee's baby book and compare the differences between them. As little and petite as Dax seems to me, Rylee was even smaller at this age. At her 4 month appointment, she weighed 12 lbs. 2 oz. and was 25 inches long. I guess I just have little and petite babies.

Too Cute...

My friend had asked me if I would take some pictures of her kids, and of course I said I would LOVE to. I was actually excited because she has a little girl, and I had been wanting to do pics of a baby girl. I had a lot of fun and the kids were so cute. Here is some of what I got....
