Hoppy Easter....

We had a fabulous Easter weekend together as a family. It was so much fun and the kids enjoyed every minute of it. We all went camping at Caineville Wash, near Hanksville, on Friday until Sunday with grandma Judi & Papa Rick. We got everything packed and loaded Thursday and then Friday morning we headed out. Rylee could not wait to get there. When we got there she climbed hills and played in the sand. Dax just ran around endlessly. He was so exciting to be able to run about freely. It was so cute seeing there faces light up. Rylee immediately wanted to take her 4-wheeler for a ride. She started out driving around camp, then Brett went on my 4 wheeler and Rylee followed. They went all the way down the wash. It made me nervous just knowing she was going on hers alone. Later we all went. Brett, Dax, and I on my bike and then Rylee followed on hers. I watched from the bike and took pictures. She did so good....I was so proud at her. Its amazing how she hopped on and remembered exactly how to ride when its been a whole year since she rode it. Not to mention last year was her first time and she was only 3 years old. I would not have thought she would have remembered so much this year. She is a natural!

It was so funny because before we went camping I had mentioned that I was curious to see if Dax would play in the sand or just eat the sand. Well, he did a little of both. He loved to play in it, but it wasn't long after he would start playing in the dirt that it would go to his mouth. He picked up this dirt clog at one point and started eating it like an apple. Gross! I guess a little dirt never hurt.

Its so funny how much stuff I notice that are so different about when Dax and Rylee were both this age. Dax will not keep a hat on for anything and Rylee would no problem. Good thing I had the coat with the hood that buttoned under his chin. Rylee never put stuff in her mouth and Dax puts anything and everything in his mouth. But Rylee didn't cuddle as much at this age as Dax does. Dax is definitely louder and more wild. Rylee was 100% sugar & spice and everything nice...and then Dax is definitely 100% pure boy...snips & snails and puppy dog tails! Its so fun having one of each. Everyday I think of how blessed we truly are to have a girl and a boy. So fun!
We colored eggs Thursday so we could bring them with and roll them down the hill. Rylee made her eggs all by herself and they were tiedye. They turned out so cute, I was actually really proud at how well she did. She is getting so big!

Saturday some of our friends, Steven and Deanna showed up with their three kids; DJ, Sabree, and Ariah. The kids played so good together. They rode their dirt bikes, climbed to the top of the huge hills and played in the dirt. That night we made a fire and roasted marshmallows and made smores. Rylee didn't like them, but Brett & I sure did. Who doesn't like smores? I guess my picky little eater, miss Rylee. By the end of both nights Rylee was so worn out she was to bed by 9pm.

Easter morning, Rylee woke up by 7am but we waited until about 7:30am to get up and see if the easter bunny had actually found us way out here in the middle of nowhere...and sure enough, he did! The kids got SO much stuff from that bunny. He spoiled them rotten. Rylee had wrote him a letter a few weeks earlier asking for the white FurReal kitty that walks and she got it. She also got colorbook and crayons, shorts, 2 shirts, bubbles, a game, lip gloss, stuffed rabbit and LOTS of candy. Then grandma & papa got her a movie, jammies, and candy. Then Dax got 2 outfits, stuffed bunny, rabbit ears, bib, toys, big dump truck with sand toys and candy from the easter bunny and from grandma and papa he got sippy cups, a new bowl, jammies and candy. They were both excited. Rylee is always so sweet when she gets stuff. She is so excited and always says "wow this is the best Easter ever!" Its so cute.

Then we got dressed and outside we went to look for eggs that the easter bunny hid. Luckily Sunday was really warm. Rylee started finding some before I could even get Dax's shoes on and out the door. Then she helped Dax find a few of his. Luckily his looked like baseballs, footballs, and basketballs. It at least got his attention. Rylee had so much fun finding eggs and we had fun just following her around watching her get excited about each one she found.

Afterward, we went back to the trailor and opened each egg to see what she got from the easter bunny. He gave her more candy, earrings, bracelets, and money. She thought that was really neat. Then all the kids took their eggs on the different hills and rolled them down. For some reason our eggs were like the strongest eggs ever made and stayed alive much longer than the other kids eggs. I think it was the paint we used on them. It was funny! I guess it made for more rolling, which made Rylee happy.

The rest of the last day there we just did a lot of playing on the hills, in the dirt and going for rides. Everyone had a really fun time together. We are so glad we were able to take the kids camping for Easter and we are so glad that they loved it so much!

I hope everyone else had as good of an Easter holiday as we did!!!
Happy Easter!
