Holiday Fun...

For the 24th of July, we of course spent it with family. We love being able to spend these kinds of holidays with our family and friends. We actually went to Salina Wednesday night to start our long weekend. On Thursday, my friend Jess drove from St. George to Salina to hang out. I haven't seen her in a little over a year and it was so good to see her and hang out with her. She brought her daughter Talia, which made Rylee very happy. We met for lunch then just hung out. One good thing about Jess and I is no matter what we are doing or not doing, we still enjoy our time together. She is pregnant with a little girl and I cannot wait until she is born. I never thought we would have our kids close in age, but Dax and her baby girl will only be 9 months exciting!
On Friday, the 24th of July, we took the kids to the Redmond park for the parade and games. Rylee had so much fun with her cousins. We walked to the park with my sister Shanda and her 5 cute kids. Rylee got lots of candy at the parade, then we started with the games. The very first thing she did was get her face painted, then played a few games. Her biggest concern was getting a gold fish. We had a sno cone, ate some food, played at the park and then headed home.

That night we had a BBQ with our friends Jaron, Jenny and their little girl Nakiah, then went to the burn-outs. Saturday, Brett and I went on a Harley ride, which was really nice and then looked around for places to live. And I am happy to say we found a! (Thanks to my nephew Jayden!)
Sunday we visited Rylee & Dax's great grandma VilaDean, then took Rylee to play with her cousin Kailey. They play so good together. We went and ate a very yummy dutch oven dinner at my in-laws...Rick makes the best food, I swear! Then I headed back to SLC with the kids, oh and I brought Kailey along for the ride. I was a little worried about it since Kailey is use to staying up much later than Rylee, but Rylee was out on the way home, so Kailey went to bed when I did. The next day I took them to the splash park and then her mommy and daddy came and picked her up.

So that was our LONG and FUN 24th of July weekend...we enjoyed every bit of it and look forward to many more holidays with family and friends!!!

Official Weigh in....

Dax had his 4 month check-up on July 20, 2009. He weighed in at 13 lbs. 14 oz., and was 25.2 inches long. His head circumference is 16.8 inches. For his weight alone at his age, he is in the 40th percentile, for his height alone at his age he is in the 70th percentile. His head circumference is the 50th percentile. His weight for how tall he is, its actually only the 10th percentile. Which is great considering at both his 2 week and 2 month check-ups it was not even on the chart yet, so they had it listed as <5th percentile. He has now made it on the charts. Long and skinny, just like Rylee was. He had to get two shots and he was such a BIG BOY! He let out one little cry and then stopped. The doctor said he looks fantastic and is doing great for his age. He was babbling and "talking" a lot to the doctor and the doctor said he is practicing a lot with his sounds and could be an early talker.
Its so fun to look back at Rylee's baby book and compare the differences between them. As little and petite as Dax seems to me, Rylee was even smaller at this age. At her 4 month appointment, she weighed 12 lbs. 2 oz. and was 25 inches long. I guess I just have little and petite babies.

Too Cute...

My friend had asked me if I would take some pictures of her kids, and of course I said I would LOVE to. I was actually excited because she has a little girl, and I had been wanting to do pics of a baby girl. I had a lot of fun and the kids were so cute. Here is some of what I got....

Wow...where does the time go?

I cannot believe summer is already more than half way over. I have to say this summer has been great and we have been able to take the kids to do a lot of fun things. Between going to Texas and playing at home in the water, its been really good. Rylee absolutely loves playing in water. Our back yard is really big and all grassy, so we put out the slip-n-slide and a little pool and it entertains her all day long. I love sitting out in the lounge chair, Dax in his exersaucer, and Rylee playing in the water. Its so nice and relaxing! We have also spent a lot of days playing at the splash park with my friend Melissa and her son Jayden and little girl Myah. Rylee and Jayden get along really well and have lots of fun together. They also came to play at the house, which Rylee loved. Brett also took Rylee and Savanah to the new waterpark Cowabunga and Rylee went down all the waterslides she was tall enough for and the others she went on Brett's lap. She is one brave little girl. And Dax had his first experience in a little was cold and he wasn't so sure about it.

Aren't these two so cute together? Melissa and I decided they could be girlfriend and boyfriend, lol.

Also, my sweet little guy is already 4 MONTHS old as of yesterday! Its amazing how much they change, even from 3 to 4 months old. Here are some things he likes and does at 4 months....
* He laughs and smiles so much.
* He still loves his swing.
* He loves his exersaucer....and its so amazing watching him in it. The first day we put him in it he was 3 1/2 months and he just looked at everything. The very next day he was grabbing at all the toys and just loving it.
* He started sleeping in his own crib at 3 1/2 months. Each morning I go to get him up, he is turned the opposite way, its the funniest thing.
* He goes to bed on his own. (I just lay him down awake and he goes to sleep)
* He still wakes one time a night. (usually around 4am)
* He is still very content and laid back.
* He loves sucking on his hands, and I mean his whole hands.
* He loves grabbing his toes, all the time. (It's the cutest thing ever)
* He loves having his diaper changed and gets so excited when I start taking off his clothes and diaper that he kicks and swings his arms with a big smile on his face.
* He loves bath time and is now in his sit up chair.
* He has started wearing 3-6 month clothes, but also still wears some 0-3 month clothes and onesies.
* He is in size 1 diapers and I think he weighs about 13 something....I will know for sure on the 20th at his check-up.
* He can sit when leaning on his hands for support. (I haven't officially recorded it in his book yet since he still tips when he leans and does have to use his hands for support.)

Happy 4 month birthday sweet baby, we love you....

I also took some updated pics of the kids...

Happy 4th of July...

This year we were able to celebrate with all of our family and friends for 5 days. It was so nice to see everyone and let the kids get together and play. We had BBQ's, rode 4 wheelers, went to the street dance, took the kids to the Aurora and Salina games, the parade, the rodeo and both Aurora and Salina fireworks. Rylee had so much fun this year.

Our friend Brandon was also in town and got to see Dax for the first time. It was really good to see him. Rylee has always adored him and Dax seems to take to him just as well.

We went to our friends, Jaron and Jenny, and had a BBQ. Rylee played with their cute little girl Nakia.

I was so excited to be able to meet up with my friend Shauni and her cute lil guy, Aiden. They live in Vegas so we don't see each other much. Aiden and Dax are exactly one month apart...Dax being a month older. We got a few pics of the two together. It was so good to see them.

Rylee loved the parade and got so much candy...

Here is a pic of my cute little nephew Layker with Dax. They are about 7 weeks apart. Layker is the oldest...

Oh, I almost forgot, we even found time to go to the lake. Rylee had a blast playing in the water with her cousin Savanah. This was Dax's first trip to the lake. He enjoyed relaxing with mommy in the shade.

Oh, I love these guys...aren't they the cutest?!

Huh?? Are you talking to me?!....I love this face he is pulling. He is such a stud in his cute little shoes and matching shirt...

I just want to give him kisses all over those sweet cheeks...
